Meet Nicole

With nearly two decades of real estate experience, Nicole Oertel is a force in the Chicago North Shore real estate scene. A devoted advocate, she truly believes that everyone should have a skilled and caring professional at their side when making a home purchase or sale, one of their most significant financial decisions. It's no surprise that she made a name for herself when others were fleeing the profession. Between 2009 and 2014, Nicole helped distressed homeowners successfully avoid foreclosure by opening a short sale company due to the financial crisis. Prior to that, Nicole specialized in new construction projects and luxury sales in South Florida.
Today, Nicole alongside her husband John, leads The Oertel Group at Compass, serving buyers, sellers, and investors throughout the city and suburbs. Clients rave about the top-producing team's in-depth market knowledge and attentive personal service. This hands-on approach is bolstered by the couple's personal experience renovating and flipping homes.

Deeply committed to giving back, Nicole is an avid supporter of the Stepping Stones Network, a nonprofit dedicated to helping victims of human trafficking. She and John and love their community and support it by being members of the Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation. Nicole enjoys yoga, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their daughter.
